Itinerary
DAY 01 - Sunday HELSINKI (D)
Meet your Tour Director this evening at your hotel. Welcome Dinner.

DAY 02 - Monday ST. PETERSBURG (BLD)
We depart this morning from our hotel and travel through the lower part of Finland. Included lunch. Cross over in to Russia. A drive through Vyborg before arrival into St. Petersburg late this afternoon. Check into our hotel. 3 nights.

DAY 03 - Tuesday ST. PETERSBURG (B)
Local guided tour of this incredible city of almost 5 million inhabitants. See the variety of historical monuments including: St. Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Hermitage and Palace Square at the Winter Palace, and the wonderful canals.

DAY 04 - Wednesday ST. PETERSBURG (B)
This morning, we visit the summer of the royal family - Petrodvorets. The magnificent palace has been completely refurbished and the grounds are filled with fountains flowing down to the Gulf of Finland. The afternoon is at leisure in St. Petersburg.

DAY 05 - Thursday TALLINN (BLD)
It is a short journey today around the Gulf to Estonia. Included lunch with a late afternoon arrival into Tallinn, the capital of this fine small Baltic country. Check into our central hotel. 2 nights.

DAY 06 - Friday TALLINN (B)
Enjoy a locally-guided tour this morning including a walking tour through the old town with its quaint cobbled streets and historical buildings including the Orthodox church. This afternoon is at leisure for further exploration of the walled town.

DAY 07 - Saturday COUNTRYSIDE (BD)
We travel from Tallinn to the university town of Tarttu. Leisure time to explore this small town over the lunch hour before continuing to our accommodations in the countryside. 1 night.

DAY 08 - Sunday RIGA, Latvia (BD)
Cross the border into Latvia, once again seeing the Baltic Sea. Visit the open-air Ethnographic Museum before arriving at our hotel in the centre of town.

DAY 09 - Monday RIGA (B)
A locally guided sightseeing tour shows us the highlights of this very beautiful town filled with treasured buildings such as the House of the Blackheads with its stepped gables, the Three Brothers, the Parliament, Cathedral and many more. The world renowned, Art Nouveau district, is intriguing with its particular architectural detail.

DAY 10 - Tuesday KLAIPEDA, Lithuania (BLD)
This morning, we visit stunning Rundale Palace, dating back to the early 1700's, designed by Rastrelli. Cross into Lithuania. We visit Siauliai and the dramatic Hill of Crosses. We then make our way to Klaipeda, an important transportation hub, traces its roots back to the 1200's when the Livonian Order built a defensive castle here. Later, it became a Hanseatic League city when many northern German colonists settled here. It was also briefly the capital of Prussia in 1806. 1 night.

DAY 11 - Wednesday KALININGRAD (BLD)
This morning, we take the short ferry crossing over to the 97-km long Curonian Spit. This protected sandy piece of land bordered by the Baltic Sea gained its popularity in the mid-1800's as a German East Prussian seaside resort and re-discovered in the 1990's again. Cross into Kaliningrad, Russia. 2 nights.

DAY 12 - Thursday KALININGRAD (BLD)
Today, we tour the city, once known as Königsberg. We visit the Amber Museum - a tribute to this "Baltic gold", the Cathedral, the History Museum and the Immanuel Kant Museum - one of Königsberg's most famous inhabitants and world-renowned philosopher.

DAY 13 - Friday VILNIUS, Lithuania (B)
We depart Kaliningrad this morning for our drive back into Lithuania. We stop in Kaunas, the third-largest city in the Baltic countries. Late afternoon arrival in Vilnius, bustling capital of Lithuania. We check into our hotel in the heart of old town for 3 nights.

DAY 14 - Saturday VILNIUS (BL)
This morning, our local guide meets us for a walking tour of the city. We see a variety of historical buildings in the town centre including the Dominican Church of the Holy Spirit, St. Anne's, the Presidential Palace, and the impressive Cathedral-Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Vladislaus. We also have the opportunity of visiting the Lithuanian Genocide Museum located in the former KGB headquarter building.

DAY 15 - Sunday VILNIUS (BD)
A leisurely morning, we drive out of town to Trakai. Here, we visit a most beautiful castle on a small lake. Perhaps the single best-known monument in the country, we are taken back into time. Many souvenir-stalls are located in the old town offering traditional mementos of the region. Farewell dinner this evening.

DAY 16 - Monday HOME (B)
After breakfast this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
